About Anir

Scientist. Clinician. Educator. Artist.

I’ve been fortunate to wear many hats before founding Kitewood.

For ten years, I have worked across the drug development pipeline. Starting at the FDA developing regulatory measures for HIV diagnostics, I made the move to neuroscience development at VCU Health, bridging my video interests with optical fluorescent imaging of zebrafish.

Most recently, I worked with a local biotech CAR-T manufacturing company and supported scaling the Phase I/II programs into Phase III with fully integrated manufacturing, clinical operations, and quality.

I have spent over 1000 active hours in the OR, specifically in spine neurosurgery and vascular surgery. Intimately familiar with aseptic and sterile gowning for both manufacturing and surgical procedures, this skillset has proven a massive asset in live recordings of sensitive HEPA-controlled environments (such as ORs and ISO-manufacturing suites).

I have been fortunate to have both presented and published in the sports medicine, neurology, and clinical diagnostic spaces.

Currently, I am working towards a BSN to support my clinical research interests.

Throughout all of my endeavors, I have maintained a key focus on instruction and advocacy, increasing awareness for educational literacy along multiple avenues.

Working first as a tutor, I greatly enjoyed supporting students one-on-one and in groups. I am a strong advocate for on-the-job training, using any and every opportunity to cultivate local talent in the community to build strong relationships and enable aspiring professionals to succeed.

A love of film and all things technical across my scientific career have prepared me unexpectedly for my lifelong passion of writing and directing.

I take great inspiration from how the reality and the world around us intersects with human emotion – the stories we tell ourselves. I hope to explore many of these stories through my works, in short and long-forms.

I ultimately aspire to direct my own feature-length independent movies, supporting up-and-coming crew and talent through mentorship and exposure to reach their own goals.

What’s next?

I’m very excited to finally be pursuing my passion full-time as a career. As I build my portfolio and grow my client base, I look forward to directing my first short film next spring.

Let me know how I can support your growth!
